Current everyday makeup products & organization!

Until a few months back I used to store my everyday makeup in a cute pink caddy but, alas, it fell apart. In particular, the internal trays became loose and it was not safe to use it as is any more.

I was about to throw it in the garbage when I had an idea (divine intervention? I had some time to kill? Who knows!): I removed the trays because they were quite handy for my nightstand top drawer and the caddy, without the trays was perfect for storing my nailpolishes. So, that's what killing two birds with one stone is!

So, here's my current everyday makeup products tucked away in a convenient fashion in my drawer.

On top is the back of the drawer and here I keep the items that I don't use every single day, in particular a Mac eye shadow pen, the UD 24/7 travel eye pencils and a MUFE aqua gel.

Here I keep the Dior Diorskin Nude powder foundation and the Guerlain Meteorites.

Here is my eye pencils and mascaras tray (this one was purchased separately at Jumbo) mostly Mac but as well as The Body Shop, UD, Erre Due and Bourjois. You can also see my UD Basics palette.

Here you can see my currently most used Mac eyeshadows (Ricepaper, Romp, Steamy and Moleskin), a Skindinavia mini face mist and the Mac Blonde MSF that I use as blush or highlighter.

Here are a mini bottle with Mac Fix+, my MUFE concealer, a Mac highlighter and a Mac retractable lip brush.

Eyelash curler, Mac Added Goodness fluidline, Clinique Black Honey gel eyeliner, Mac Hot 'n Saucy tendertone and a sample of something (OCC foundation I think).

Miscellaneous and a Pixi highlighter I'm trying to finish as well as a Mac clear (well, not so clear anymore, lol!)  brow gel.

Face products: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, TBS Vitamin C Skin Booster (life savior, I mix it with my foundation)

Clarins Instant Smooth primer, Stay don't Stray mini by Benefit as well as Girl Meets Pearl mini highlighter.

Sonia Kashuc cream bronzer (still on the fence abou this), Mac Pro Longwear bronzer

Clinique eyeshadow duo that I wear when I don't know what eyeshadow to wear (that was nicely put!)

And coming full circle, my Dior Nude BB cream and the Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover foundation (probably a review of this is coming up next).

So these are the products that I use most often nowdays, and this setup is really handy and fuss free.
That's all for now, I hope you 're all well and thriving!

Makeup Storage: Pretty in Pink Winter Edition!

This is the winter edition of the things that I keep in my makeup caddy.

Here's the fall edition some months ago, as well as last spring edition here and the first ever post of this series, in Septhember 2011, here.

So, let's take a look at present status!

First tier from left to right

Here I keep a little eyeshadow duo that I wear when I can't decide what eyeshadows to wear, it goes with everything and I just slap it on and I'm good to go.

Next my all time favorite Instant Light Blush liquid blushes from Clarins, now that they are running low I start to despair over finding substitutes and try not to use them all the time! I really wish Clarins would make this product permanent.

Next to them I keep a Mac paint in Stilife, another emergency item, when I don't have much time, I just apply it on the lid with my finger and that's it!

Next my MUFE brow gel and a lipbalm.

On the far right I keep my Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows and a Chanel cream eyeshadow. In order to stop them from rolling I placed an old Garnier concealer next to them, lol!

In the vertical slot I keep eye pencils (mostly Mac) and mascara as well as a mascara wand that I comb my brows with. As for the Diorshow Extase, not impressed, quite average I would say and definitely will not repurchase.

Second tier from left to right

Too Faced Shadow Insurance (still working on finishing it, lol!), Mac clear brow gel (not impressed, my brow hair still go downwards after a while) and a Givenchy mascara wand that I use to comb my lashes after mascara.

Next are my Mac fluidlines: Catch my Eye (I actually use this as a cream eyeshadow), Added Goodness, Avenue and Blacktrack.

Next are foundation and concealer: Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation #51' MUFE Full Cover concealer #4, Mac Prep+Prime highlighter in Radiant Rose and TBS Vitamin C Skin Booster.

Next a mini Mac travel bottle with Fix+

Next a couple extra Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows.
Last tier/bucket
Here I keep the blushes that I'm currently using, all by Mac: Legendary, Azalea Blossom, Equilibrium (as a bronzer), Dainty, Crew and Sunbaque.
Also, my eyelash curler, Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch (special occasion primer), my Diorskin Nude Powder Foundation and my Guerlain MeteorIites #1.
On top of these I keep my Mac palette with the current configuration of eyeshadows
Also the Real Techniques brush roll. Now, something interesting: I just got these Real Techniques brushes (review will follow in some days) and I decided, in order to actually try them thoroughly, to use just them for my everyday make up and nothing else. Obviously I tossed in a couple other brushes (my Mac 208, 219 and 211) as well as two eye pencils that I use every single day (UD Zero 24/7 Glide on for the tightline and TBS kohl #18 Moonstone for the waterline). Last item I keep here is a mini Mac bottle with some brush cleanser
Here's all together with a little pink mirror as well
As you see there are no lip products and the reason is that I keep them elsewhere and I choose what to wear after putting my makeup on.

Before you go, here's a little extra. Since I got the Diorskin Nude powder foundation I used it non stop, to the point where I neglected my liquid foundation.

A week ago, I bought from the TBS the Vitamin C Skin Booster as a wake me up skin enhancer, to use before makeup and one day I mixed it with my foundation. Boom! I fell in love with the result because the silica in it makes the mix with foundation to glide on my skin like nobody's business! I've used silicon based primers before but this one is amazing!

I also use into the mix a drop of concealer for better coverage and a bit of the Mac highlighter. I mix them up into a clear plastic thingy (I believe it was from some Mac MSF or mineralize blush). Finally, I use the Real Techniques multitask brush to apply the lot on my face and I'm very happy with the result.

That's it for now, I hope you 're all well and thriving!

Makeup Storage: Pretty in Pink Fall Edition!

Well, this kind of posts is turning into a series (lol!), you can see here my previous posts on the same topic.

So, it is time once more for a little rearranging, for taking out the spring/summer fun stuff and putting in the fall/winter ones, some old, some new, mixed and matched.

You won't see any foundations because I always keep them in the fridge and no brushes because I keep them in a separate container.

It is also true that my little caddy is a bit beaten up but it is still functional, so I won't replace it as yet.

So, let's get started!

First tray: lips and eyes.

  • Three Mac lipsticks in Oh Oh Oh!, Hot Gossip and Pure Zen
  • MUFE eyebrow corrector and Mac paints in Bare Canvas and Stilife
  • Lipglosses: Mac Emancipation and Social Light, Korres #23 Light Purple and Clinique #07 Bonfire (magazine freebie)
  • Benefit Erase Paste #1 (it doesn't end, I know!)
  • Various eye pencils: Nyx Jumbo pencil in Cottage Cheese, W&W Pixie, Mac kohl pencils in Fascinating, Smolder, Prunella, Undercurrent and Plank Technakohl
  • Mac lip pencil in Saunter (nude)
  • A couple of foundation samples
  • A clean mascara wand that I use for combing my brows
Second tray: more eyes and face

  • Garnier Roll-on and Bourjois Healthy Mix concealers
  • Mac Prep+Prime highlighter in Radiant Rose
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • A mini bottle with Mac Fix+ and a retractable Mac lip brush
  • My Clarins Instant Light Blushes in Vitamin Pink and Corail Tonic. Behind these there is one (oh yes, only one) YSL Glossy Stain in #12, the rest will have to relax until next spring!
  • A Clinique eyeshadow duo in Rose Wine (I got it at the Estee Lauder bazaar to gift it to someone and I liked it so much that I got one for myself as well!)
  • Three Mac Fluidlines: Blacktrack, Avenue and Added Goodness
  • Two Mac pain pots in Painterly (one year old, probably I'll just B2M it) and Nubile
Last tray: eyes and face as well.

  • Mac palette
  • Naked 2 palette by UD
  • YSL Pure Chromatics #10 palette
  • Dior Aurora palette
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows in Metallic Pomegranate, Pink Gold, On and On Bronze, Permanent Taupe, Immortal Charcoal and Infinite White
  • Chanel Emerveiile cream eyeshadow and Mac Daylight minelarize eyeshadow
  • Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten powder in Porcelain
  • Jemma Kid Iced Gold highlighter
  • A few blushes
An overview of my fall-ish Mac palette

Brûlée, Honesty, Moleskine, Espresso, Carbonized

Creamy Bisque, Quarry, Satin Taupe, Scene, Smut

Crystal Avalanche, Expensive Pink, Mythical, Steamy, Club

For my blushes I made a little case from scrap paper, this way I can fit more and have them easily accessible at the same time.

From bottom up, left then right

Mac Stunner and Legendary

Mac Sunbasque and Equillibrium

Mac Supernova

Tarte Exposed and Blissful

So, this is my current, everyday, go-to, stash. I do have extra items that I store in a drawer and what I do is that if I reach for something more than 2-3 times a week, I put it in my caddy.

On another note, if I don't have something in front of me I usually forget to use it, so I decided to put in the caddy the Naked, YSL and Dior palettes

For the end, here's a fall NOTD, Chanel Tulipe Noire (a little gem I found for 15€ at Factory Outlet!)

What's your favorite shade or product for fall?

Mac summer eyeshadows palette

The best way I found about storing my most used Mac eyeshadows is a standard Mac palette where I rotate them according to the seasons. So, during winter and fall I keep mostly subdued and neutral shades in it but coming spring and especially summer, my palette is like an explosion of colors.

See for yourself!

Let's take a closer look!

First row:

Brûlée, Expensive Pink, Kid, Espresso and Carbonized (LE)

Second row:

Short Shorts (LE), Sun Blonde (LE), Swimming, Steamy and Aquadisiac

Third row:

Baby Petals (LE), Pink Venus, VIP (LE), Moon's Reflection and Deep Truth

I call this candy for eyes!

And here' s a little eye of the day!

I used:

  • Short Shorts for the inner corner and browbone,
  • Steamy on the lid,
  • Deep truth on the outer corner and V
  • Equilibrium blush/bronzer for the crease, it's a gorgeous neutral to use with colorful looks because it makes any combination more wearable.
What colors do you mostly use for eyes during the summer?

Makeup storage: tidy and accessible

You probably have already seen my post about how I organize my everyday items (if not you can see it here ).

The rest of my stash that I use constantly but not every single day, is stored in this cute pink mini drawers set by Jumbo, tucked away in my closet. Tidy, accessible but at the same time not in my face.

So, let's take a look!

On top there is one lidded compartment and two without lid, where I keep some random stuff, samples etc

First drawer: lip stuff! As you can see mostly Mac, some Revlon Colorburst lip butters (BTW they are fabulous but can't stand the heat, they melt...) and a couple OCC lip tars (not impressed by them).

Second drawer: eye makeup.

  • My Elf mineralize eyeshadows stacked in containers,
  • a few Mac eyeshadows that I can't depot (cream and baked),
  • an Avon palette (magazine freebie),
  • a Stilla palette and
  • a few pencils and mascaras (posh samples included, lol!). The Bourjois Volumizer will be my next mascara, if you have already tried it please share your opinions of it!
Both bottom drawers have face stuff. This one contains

  • Mac mineralize skinfinish powders (Pink Porcelain, Lightscapade, Refined, By Candlelight and Rose Quartz)
  • a couple of Mac blushes (Stunner and Equillibrium) and
  • the Powderflage by Benefit.
The last drawer contains

  • an Elf mineralize makeup,
  • two Elf powders with shimmer (one fair and one tan) that I mostly use on my body,
  • Mac Careblend powder,
  • a Jemma Kidd primer that I use in spring/summer (when I'm a little darker that corpse white) and the
  • Iced Gold highlighter that I mostly use during the winter
  • Missha M BB cream and
  • a mini Mac Strobe highlighter
This is the way I store my not everyday stuff, it's really practical and out of the way.

Makeup Storage: Pretty in Pink Updated!

Some time ago I posted about my everyday makeup organization configuration, you can see it here , but since there are some new products that I incorporated in my daily routine, I thought it would be interesting to do an update!

First of all, here's my cute caddy.

I had purchased it for my niece from Jumbo, but when she opened it I thought it would be a funny, practical and economic way to keep my stash together and portable (in house of course!).

It has two shallow tiers and a deep "bucket" and it stores my everyday items perfectly!

So let's take a look!

First tier (from left to right):

  • Mac paints in Bare Canvas and Stilife,
  • a lip butter,
  • Clarins Instant Light liquid blush in #01 Vitamin Pink and
  • YSL Glossy stains in #15 Rose Vinyl and #17 Encre Rose
  • Erase Paste concealer by Benefit
  • Powderflage by Benefit (I put some in a little container because the original pot didn't fit in here)
  • Painterly paintpot by Mac
  • Equilibrium blush by Mac that I use for contouring.

As you can see, my glossy stains and the liquid blush fit perfectly and I also grouped them by color, so this is my "pink" set.

I also keep my pencils in here and an Elf mascara brush that I washed and kept to comb my brows, as well as a Mac sample of the mineral foundation.

Second tier:

  • Rol on concealer by Garnier
  • Shadow Insurance primer by Too Faced
  • Prep and Prime pink highlighter by Mac
  • Retractable lip brush by Mac
  • Prep and Prime for lips by Mac
  • 2000 Calories mascara in black-brown by Max Factor
  • Clarins Instant Light liquid blush in #02 Coral Tonic
  • YSL Glossy Stains in #07 Corail Aquatique and #12 Corail Fauve
  • Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow by Maybelline in #55 Immortal Charcoal
  • Mac Fix+ in a little spritz bottle
  • Mac fluidlines in Blacktrack, Avenue and Added Goodness

Bucket:

  • Three Mac palettes (two with eyeshadows and one with blushes)
  • Sunday Afternoon and Flower Fantasy blushes by Mac
  • Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten face powder in Porcelain
  • Color Tatto eyeshadows in #35 On and On Bronze, #40 Permanent Taupe and #45 Infinite White

Here's an overview once more!

That's it for now, I hope you're all well and thriving!
